3.2.1 Fault Cycle

Notes:

• A Test can be:
  • a Scheduled test,
  • an Unscheduled test, or
  • a Diagnostic test.
• A 'customer' can be another operator in the role of 'service provider';
• A 'provider' can be another operator in the role of 'network provider' (i.e. for outsourced service parts);
• A 'fault report' is initially the notification of a detected problem, and ultimately the notification of problem clearance;
• Similarly, a 'notification' is initially the indication of a detected problem, and ultimately the notification of problem resolution;
• A 'progress report' on problem resolution is considered a particular type of intermediate 'notification'.
